Roles & Responsibilities:-

• Execute directional drilling operations safely and efficiently as per the drilling program.
• Operate and monitor RSS tools and mud motors based on well requirements.
• Study and understand the well plan, discuss with Lead DD/Company Man, and highlight anti-collision or trajectory issues.
• Design well profiles and BHA using drilling software.
• Coordinate effectively with MWD team, drilling supervisor, and rig crew for smooth operations.
• Analyze drilling data in real-time and support decision-making to optimize ROP and trajectory.
• Troubleshoot drilling challenges such as vibrations, tool failures, doglegs, or deviations.
• Ensure adherence to safety procedures, operational guidelines, and company policies.
• Prepare and QC daily drilling reports for Company Man and office.
•  Prepare detailed End of Well Report (EOWR) within 72 hours after job completion.
• Document and close out any equipment failure reports and ensure follow-up actions.
• Prepare a complete fishing diagram for every BHA component.
• Manage proper documentation of all tools, equipment, and BHA lists at the rig.
• Import and update well plans, surveys, BHA data, and operational parameters in software tools.
• Support trajectory optimization, steerability decisions, and drilling parameter recommendations.
• Work efficiently under the 42/21 rotation schedule.

Technical Skills & Knowledge:

• Hands-on experience in Directional Drilling (minimum 5 years).
• Proven experience in USA unconventional drilling operations.
• Strong practical knowledge of RSS, mud motors, turbines, NMDC tools, and MWD systems.
• Understanding of well engineering, directional well design, and trajectory control.
• Experience operating or understanding:

o Draw-works

o Weight indicators

o Top drive

o Travelling block

o Kelly / swivel

o Drilling motors

o Engines & generators

o Mud pumps, compressors, solids control equipment

• Knowledge of tubulars (DP, DC, HWDP, stabilizers, crossovers, etc.) and drill string behavior.
•  Strong familiarity with BOP systems – Annular, Ram preventers, BOP stack for 2CP/3CP/4CP wells, choke & kill manifold.
• Skilled in using directional drilling software for well planning and BHA design.
• Excellent documentation skills for daily reports, EOWR, and tool failure reports.
• Strong communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
• Engineering qualification (preferred but not mandatory).
