Roles & Responsibilities:
- Conduct chemical and physical testing of oil, gas, and water samples as per company and international standards.
- Perform sample preparation, analysis, and data interpretation related to drilling fluids, completion fluids, and production chemicals.
- Operate, maintain, and calibrate laboratory instruments including Agilent GC, Hach water analysis equipment, and other analytical apparatus.
- Apply analytical chemistry principles and chemical mechanisms in testing and troubleshooting.
- Ensure full understanding of plant chemistry, chemical composition, and properties of reagents used in analyses.
- Maintain complete records and prepare analytical reports using Microsoft Office and other lab software.
- Conduct quality assurance and calibration checks to ensure data reliability and repeatability.
- Work safely in H2S environments, following PPE and safety procedures at all times.
- Maintain MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet) knowledge for all chemicals in use.
- Assist in fluid analysis, chemical formulation review, and time-efficient testing for production support.
- Participate in emergency response drills and comply with all company HSE requirements.
- Demonstrate professional behavior and teamwork with clients, supervisors, and colleagues.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience as Lab Chemist (offshore or onshore) and 5 years total experience in oilfield or chemical laboratory operations.
- Hands-on experience with Agilent GC, Hach water analysis, and other analytical lab instruments.
- Strong knowledge of analytical chemistry, plant chemistry, chemical reagents, and QA processes.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with advanced laboratory software.
- Good understanding of HSE compliance, PPE usage, and emergency procedures.
- Excellent English communication skills – read, write, speak, and understand.
